Itinerary
You will be picked up from your Hotel / Riad in Marrakech, and departure to Ait Ben Haddou over the mountains of high Atlas passing through the TiziN’tichka pass (2260 m in altitude), visit the kasbahs and lunch in one of the restaurants in the foothills of the kasbahs. Afterwards we continue to Skoura where we will visit the Kasbah of Amredil, a beautiful Kasbah situated in the palm groves “Route of one thousand Kasbahs”. After that heading to Boulmane du Dades Dinner and overnight in Kasbah hotel.
Departure from your hotel in Dades gorges at 8 AM after a typical Moroccan breakfast. Taking the road of 1000 Kasbahs driving around the colorful Berber villages of Dades valley. 45 km further, you will get to Tineghir. It is famous by it’s beautiful palm groves and Jewish quarter. While arriving Todra gorges (Todgha) its free time to go on trek along the canyons about 300 m high. It’s a preferred place by mountain climbers. Afterwards you will leave to Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara desert. Then it’s free time for lunch on the way before you arrive to Erfoud. Once you arrive to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, you will take a camel ride for 1h30 at the sunset to get to the oasis where the camp is located. Spend the night in the bivouac in Merzouga Sahara dunes under nomadic tents or outside under shooting stars. Play drums with the camel drivers. Dinner and overnight in Merzouga Sahara desert camp.
Early wake up to climb the dune & see the beautiful sunrise, walk down and ride the camels back to the hotel, afterwards get on the 4WD & head to Ouarzazate through Alnif, Tazzarine& the scenic Draa valley, crossing the nice rocky mountains AitSaoun via Tizintnifift, to Ouarzazate. Overnight in Ouarzazate.
We head to Aït Benhaddou, a ‘fortified city’, situated along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. It is situated on a hill along the Ouarzazate River and boasts some beautiful examples of kasbahs, some of which remain inhabited. Granted UNESCO World Heritage listing, the site had been the setting for many films including Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. After stopping for lunch we then continue to Marrakech over the high Atlas mountains.
